Jerry L. Whorton, 73, of Mt. Auburn, Iowa passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi with his children and close friends by his side. Per his wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Jerry was born May 12, 1950, in Dubuque, Iowa to Don & Betty (Heine) Whorton. He graduated from Marion High School in 1968. Jerry worked as a skilled tradesman. He framed houses for many years, worked in the gas industry, was a project superintendent and manager, and was a jack of all trades. Jerry was an all-around handyman, making many projects around his cabin and for friends and family.

Jerry was a maker of memories for the friends he made everywhere he went. He loved to travel, spend time on the water, and he was never short of a good joke. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Kelli Allbones; son, Jeremy (Lindsay) Whorton; grandchildren, Zach Whorton, Joe (Alyssa) Seeman, and Glenn & Larson Whorton; great-grandchild, Wyatt Whorton; and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don & Betty Whorton.

In lieu of flowers, spend a day playing on the water in memory of Jerry.

"I didn't have a million dollars, but I've had a million laughs, and they were all worth at least a dollar." -Jerry
