Jeffrey "Jeff" Joel Fisher, 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Harmony Cedar Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Porte City, with Father Anthony Nketiah as Celebrant. Friends may visit with family from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 20, at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, La Porte City.

Jeff was born October 25, 1950, in Waverly, the son of Virgil and Loraine (Fangman) Fisher. He attended the Iowa School for the Deaf, graduating in 1968. On June 12, 1992, Jeff was united in marriage to Lisa Swenka in Vinton. To this union, they were gifted two children. The couple later divorced. He was employed as a journeyman electrician, retiring in 2017.

Jeff's curious and wondering nature led him to a life of traveling, sketching, playing poker, and collecting old vehicles, tractors and model cars. He will be remembered for his humor, creativity, innovations, art, and for being a dedicated father.

Left to cherish Jeff's memory are his daughter, Zora (Patrick) Cicciarelli; son, Henry Fisher; sisters: Deb (Dick) Koontz and Jeni (Sherwin) Meier; and brothers: Nick Fisher, Doug (Donna) Fisher, Terry (Jeanie) Fisher, and Tim (Joe Clark) Fisher; brother-in-law, Dick Even; uncle, Lester (Beverly) Fisher; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cheryl Even; sister-in-law, Charlotta Toth-Fisher; aunts: Linda Heaton and Carol Briggs; uncle, Larry Fangman; nieces and nephews: Missy Smith, Sara Fisher, Clinton Koontz, Kelli Koontz, and Wade Even; and cousin, Bill Fangman.

A memorial fund has been established.
