Obituaries : Linda Rouse

Linda Rouse, 77, of VInton, was lovingly surrounded by family when she passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Virginia Gay Hospital, Vinton, following a short illness.  Per Linda's wishes, there will be no services.  Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.

Linda was born January 7, 1947 in Vinton, the daughter of Russell and Irene (Conklin) Cashman.  She attended and graduated from school in Vinton.  On March 30, 1963, Linda was united in marriage to Larry Rouse SR in Vinton.  Larry preceded her in death on August 9, 2023.  Linda was employed as a CNA at the Virginia Gay Annex.

Linda enjoyed spending her leisure time crocheting, cross stitching, camping, fishing, boating, watching hummingbirds and spending time with all of her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her sons, Robert (Audrey) Rouse and Larry (Kim) Rouse JR; brother, James (Lisa) Cashman; four grandchildren: Shannon (Paul) Galloway-Floyd, Megan (Jeremy) Franzen, Brandon Rouse, and Kelsey (Brody) Kerner; ten great-grandchildren: Kelly Franzen, Blake Galloway, Sebastian and Zack Galloway-Floyd, Wyatt, Sawyer, and Delaney Franzen, and Austin, Bailey and Brooks Kerner; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, Larry SR; and brother and sister-in-law,  David and Jacque Cashman.

A memorial fund has been established.
