Opinion : Girls 7, Boys 1

It finally happened. It's been a long time in coming. For years we heard, "Well, not this time..." There were funny Facebook posts that led us to believe for a second that we MIGHT have this happen, only to have a twist at the end that said, " but not this time!" Each time, I didn't really care, because I was still thrilled. There had been 7 chances for this to happen before, but finally the 8th time was a charm. There was a grandSON added to our family yesterday! A little guy by the name of Wade decided to make an appearance a bit sooner than mom and dad had thought he would arrive. He's a sweet little guy and this grandma couldn't get enough holding time in! I know what it's like to be exhausted after having a baby, and for people to hang around, so I pulled myself away, but I sure didn't want to! This little guy has a great mom and dad and I can't wait to see what's in store for him. Jadon and Leah married after just a couple months of dating (hey, why drag it out they figured) so we quickly planned a wedding almost a year and a half ago. This little fella doesn't know how lucky he is. He's got a good mom and dad that will make sure that he's in Sunday School, and they'll make sure he does things right. He's got many years of good home cooked meals ahead of him, and oh the desserts this little guy will get to devour when mom gets in the kitchen, even I'm jealous! He's got plenty of aunts and uncles and best of all he's got 7 little girls to pick on when he gets a bit older. He doesn't realize how we've all been waiting for that special little guy to start balancing things out a bit, but now that he's here, we're hoping he starts a new trend in the Close offspring! Here's to more little boys to join the clan! Congratulations Jadon and Leah, you'll be the best parents, and to little Wade, I expect you are going to be getting a ton of hugs and kisses from those cousins of yours!
