Opinion : Don Lemon isn't in his prime, Google it

Don Lemon. I probably don't need to say more.

Can anyone say, that women in their 50s are not in their prime? Oh, that's right, Don Lemon can. Why can he say that? Because he's an idiot for one, and secondly, because he "googled it." He declaring that women only between 20 and 40 are in their prime. For the rest of us, we are dunzo. We are past our expiration date.

I just can't with him. He displayed his true intelligence last week. He declared that Nikki Haley at age 51 was no longer "in her prime." I just paused in writing that, rolled my eyes and realize that now as a woman "not in her prime" according to Lemon, I have to explain how utterly stupid Lemon's statement is.

Honestly, there really isn't an explanation necessary for most of us. But just in case Lemon does another Google search on himself, maybe this will help.

First, we can expect that there will be a "heartfelt" aka "I got my wrist slapped for saying something so stupid" or "I have to put some words together to make it sound like I'm really sorry to keep my job" apology.

All of this came about after Haley announced that she was going to run for president. Now, I don't think she has a shot at the top job, but you go girl. If we want our girls to shoot for the moon, the rest of us have to squash bugs like Lemon when they say stupid things about women.

Apparently, he believes that 80-year-old President Joe Biden is in his prime. For sure, he never suggested that Hillary Clinton at age 69 was not in her prime, but hey Haley can't compete.

Let's define "in your prime." It means, " in the best, most successful, most productive stage." Technically, it has nothing to do with age, but it's individualized to you and what you are doing at any given time.

For example, giving birth, which I assume is what the idiot Lemon was referring to and didn't have a clue, in my prime was in my 20s and 30s. in my 50s, well, it isn't going to happen. No prime, nada, zilch.

I'm also a piano player. Playing the piano for me in my prime was probably a couple of decades ago. Mostly because I haven't played a lot since then.

Being a grandma, I'm at my prime in my 50s because in my 20s I just wouldn't have been grandma material.

See, you have to explain complicated things like this to all the Lemons in the world.

When it comes to sarcasm, dear ol' Don Lemon, I'm still in my prime. Why? Because there will always be smart, intelligent, well-educated people like you in front of a TV camera. They will continue to make ignorant remarks like this one. Or like the one you made to a rape victim telling them that they should have bit a piece of anatomy to prevent the rape. Or there is the time that you asked a guest if they had "mommy brain." Yes dear Don, you are still in your prime in front of that TV camera. Just like Whoopie, Joy and Sunny, you go!

And yet, people not in their prime obviously, continue to fork out millions each year to imbeciles like Lemon. But then, HE is in his prime, at 56. He's proven it with his ignorant comments. Hmmm. Maybe I just don't understand what it takes to be "in your prime" while on TV.

I have no idea if he's on "prime time" for the network, nor do I care. The guy is ignorant. But then I'm seeing an awful lot of ignorance when it comes to attacking women. That is probably why this "prime" example of it irritates me so much.

There are things that I like to remind myself of often. One is that when people have nothing else to pick on and they go with something like your age, they have nothing. If Lemon can't find a single thing to put down Haley for in her bid for the presidency, he's pretty dumb.

In the scope of life, his comment is at best foolish, and not worth mentioning. Yet, women who are doing anything, in my mind are "in their prime." So to Don Lemon, oh, just bugger off. But he won't. He's so insignificant that I had to google where he worked. CNN. Well, I guess I'd say whoever signs his check, isn't in their prime right now...and here's yet another example of why.
