Events and Activities : Paper Snowflakes & Valentines Workshop Feb. 7, 4-6 p.m. LaPorte City Library

Don't miss our Paper Snowflakes & Valentines Workshop on Wednesday, February 7 from 4 to 6 PM at Hawkins Memorial Library, La Porte City. Enjoy a relaxed hands-on class with Jamie Goble Brocco, author of Christmas Snowflakes. Jamie has a variety of patterns available for snowflakes and Valentines, and supplies are provided. There are no age limits and experience is not required. However, adult assistance will be needed for children still perfecting their scissor skills.

Jamie began making snowflakes as a child, but it wasn't until she had children of her own that she began to be challenged to add figures to the designs. Inspired by her children, she began including Christmas Scenes to the paper snowflakes. Friends soon asked for patterns and encouraged her to publish the collection that was originally intended as a Christmas Gift for her niece. Jamie hopes that others will enjoy learning (or relearning) about the art of paper snowflakes.
