We know that life can be difficult sometimes.

You may be feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, have thoughts of suicide, or other feelings. There are no qualifications for a "crisis" to talk to our crisis counselors. We are here to help you with anything you don't want to or can't handle alone.

A crisis can include:

  • feelings of anxiety or depression
  • thoughts of suicide or self harm
  • difficulty with relationships, including parent-child and intimate partner relationships
  • trouble managing life responsibilities, roles or expectations
  • stress about financial hardships
  • difficulty handling death or loss
  • and more

We can help you through a crisis, or aid you in supporting a loved one, co-worker or even a stranger through a difficult time. All crisis support through Foundation 2 is free and confidential. We are a trusted support for all people, any time, every time. Call us today.

Not sure if you should reach out?

If you are questioning whether you should reach out, we encourage you to take the first step and call us. Our crisis counselors are trained, non-judgmental and here to help with whatever you may be feeling.

Crisis Phone Line

You don't have to manage a crisis on your own. Foundation 2 provides trained, compassionate counselors to help you make it through the difficult time you're facing. Help is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Crisis Text & Chat

We understand that sometimes it's easier to text or chat about what you may be feeling. We offer free text and chat services 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our trained crisis counselors can talk with you and connect you with support and resources.

Mobile Crisis Outreach

Sometimes a situation would benefit from an on-site crisis counselor. Our team can come to your home, workplace, public place and more to talk with you or a loved one experiencing a crisis. Our Mobile Crisis Outreach service is available 24/7.

LAW ENFORCEMENT LIAISON PROGRAM

The Foundation 2 Law Enforcement Liaison program works with area law enforcement agencies to provide specialized mental health care responses to mental health-related calls. Our trained crisis counselors work to navigate and de-escalate mental health-related situations and connect individuals with community resources.

YOUTH CRISIS SERVICES

Crisis does not only affect adults. Children and youth in our community also experience crisis. Many do not necessarily know effective ways to handle these feelings on their own. Through our outreach and education, we hope to support young people who are experiencing these challenges both in school and at home.

What is 988?

The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provide free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Foundation 2 Crisis Services is one of two agencies statewide that answer these calls for Iowans. When you call 988, you will speak with a trained crisis counselor at the partner crisis center closest to you (potentially one at Foundation 2 Crisis Services). These services are complimentary to Foundation 2 Crisis Services' programming and we are honored to be part of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline and efforts to make crisis care easily available to all.

The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7/365 days a year for anyone who is struggling with mental health, thoughts of suicide, or another challenge. If you're concerned about someone you care about and don't know how to best intervene, you can also call/chat/text 988 to have a counselor support and guide you in next steps.
