Opinion : To my readers

The last several weeks have been a struggle to get Vinton Today to some of you and some days it's been a battle to get anything out to ALL of you! 

For a few weeks now we've been battling a case of "blacklisting" of the website. Blackllisting means that some computer somewhere has decided that since there's not a good reason to have a website with so much traffic in the middle of cornfields is HAS to be a spam site. As a result, it assumes that Vinton Today is bad. So now that battle is on to convince the powers that be, wherever they are, that no, Vinton Today really is a legit website. 

So those of you who can get on the site, and who might have friends who cannot, here are some tips. 

Iphone users: Install all of your updates and see if this helps. 

AFTER you do that, if you still can't get on go to: www.whatsmyIPaddress.com and send the number to me at vintontoday@hotmail.com and we'll see what we can do. The number will range from 8 to 10 number give or take...the numbers will be divided by periods and look something like this 12.234.34.567

Next to shopping, I hate technology. Hate it. There isn't a gray area in that department for me. I love or hate it. If it's working and doing what I need it to, well love it.

In the middle of getting everyone back online, and myself so many times that I can't count, my computer died. Dunzo, zilch, I guess I wore it out. 

Fortunately, the good thing and the creepy thing about technology is that as soon as I logged in, it somehow brought all my files from my old computer. I have a feeling it's that Cloud thingy that kicked in and said, "There she is, dump all of these files right there, " and miraculously it did. I have no idea how it works, I just go with it. 

This computer doesn't feel "right" yet. But it's getting there.
