Everyone has a bucket list of sorts, and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig is no different. Last week, during the snowstorm, he was able to check one of those items off his list. He made a stop at the Wayson family farm in rural Mt. Auburn on Friday and was able to catch up with the family.

Naig is no stranger to the Waysons. Last summer at the Iowa State Fair, Naig was paired with Emma to compete in the Iowa Governor's Charity Steer Show. Together, they won the showmanship competition.

Secretary Naig wanted to stop by and visit the family and their farm. Because Naig was in the area, he did just that. The Waysons welcomed Naig to the family's farm and the family showed Naig to the barn where he was able to meet the 2024 calves being raised.

Naig said of the family, "These great farm families are what makes Iowa so special."
