Mary Ann Van Hamme, 91, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Belle Plaine Care Center, Belle Plaine.Mary was born March 7, 1933, in rural Chelsea, Iowa to Bernard and Anna (Iezek) Bennett. She attended rural country school. April 26, 1951 Mary married Maurice Van Hamme at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chelsea. Together they moved to Anchorage, AK while Maurice served in the United States Army. Roger A. Bahr
Roger A. Bahr, 85, of Walker, IA, died at home Tuesday, April 2, 2024.Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church in Independence, IA. Burial will follow at Freemont Cemetery in Tripoli, IA.Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, at White Funeral Home, Independence, and will continue for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Charles Lee Davis, 87, of Shellsburg, Iowa, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024 at the Hemphill Hospice Unit at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, due to Alzheimer’s disease.Charles was born on December 27, 1936 to Howard and Lois (Boege) Davis in Clemons, Iowa, the second of seven children. After graduating from Grundy Center High School in 1955, he joined the United States Air Force in 1956 and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan for 2 years. Lorena Fern Karr

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at the Garrison Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Preus officiating. Richard was born on September 17, 1940, in Vinton, the son of Richard C. and Beatrice (Criswell) Bednar.

Theresa Clara Smith, 98, of Norway, IA passed away March, 27, 2024 at Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, IA. Theresa was born September 15, 1925 to Alphonse and Ida (Pickart) Bange at home in Norway, IA. She graduated from Norway High School, class of 1943. Following his time in the U.S. Navy, Theresa married Edward Smith on February 4, 1947 at St. Joyce Elaine Andorf
Joyce Elaine Andorf, 88, Dysart, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at UnityPoint Allen Hospital, Waterloo. Joyce was born February 17, 1936 in Garrison to the late Christian and Marcella (Burkey) Grimm of Waterloo, Iowa. She married LeRoy Andorf on December 30, 1956 in Dysart. They lived in Wheaton, Illinois for 26 years before returning to Dysart to live, when LeRoy retired in 1990.

Evelyn Lucille Edaburn Engledow Mather of rural Vinton passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024 at her home just days following her 101st birthday.Evelyn was born March 15th, 1923 to John "Burl" Edaburn and Helen (Lunger) Edaburn.Samuel Hendricks Roy Mather and Evelyn were joined in marriage on August 1, 1949 after Evelyn’s first husband Raymond Engledow KIA while serving in WWII.

Virginia A. Kuper, 84, of Independence, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024, at ABCM Rehabilitation Center – West Campus in Independence, IA.Virginia was born on a farm in rural Independence, IA, on March 31, 1939, the daughter of Frank and Myrtha L. (Copenhaver) Wilson. She was the youngest of six children, and grew up in Brandon, Jesup and Independence, IA. Mildred Schutterle
Mildred Schutterle, age 86, died peacefully at home Saturday, March 16, 2024. A private visitation will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo is assisting the family with arrangements.Mildred was born October 31, 1937, to Otto and Anna Doehrmann. She married Loyel Schutterle on February 14, 1960 and worked on the family farm the remainder of her life.
