On Wednesday, September 18, Kirkwood Community College's rec center will be transformed into a “higher education shopping mall” as more than one thousand prospective students and their parents compare college choices from 9 – 11 a.m., at the annual Eastern Iowa College Fair.

Representatives from nearly 100 higher education institutions will talk with interested area residents. “There will never be a better opportunity to have this many college and university representatives in one setting for juniors and seniors to visit in eastern Iowa,” said Doug Bannon, dean of Admissions at Kirkwood. "It's also an opportunity to narrow a list of possible college campuses to visit and get information on a variety of colleges at one time." Public and private colleges and universities from Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin, as well as every corner of Iowa, will be represented.

The 2013 Eastern Iowa College Fair is free and open to all interested persons. More information on the college fair is available from the Kirkwood Admissions office, 398-5517 or atwww.kirkwood.edu/collegefair.

With the most credit programs of any community college in Iowa, Kirkwood Community College boasts more than 25,000 annual college-credit students, while maintaining one of the lowest tuitions in the state.
