Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday.  A choice of salads are available Monday – Friday on site. 

 

Everyone is WELCOME!  Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal.  Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 for their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the suggested contribution is $1.00.  Carryout meals are available.  We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn.  The suggested contribution is $3.50/meal if you are 60 or older.  For those under age 60, the suggested contribution is $4.25 for home delivered meals. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements.  Delivery is throughout Benton County.  Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel a Home Delivered Meal. For more information about services, please call 319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or more.  Please help us recruit more people to join the 4th St Diner Meal program.  All contributions are used toward the continued operations of the meal site.    

 

Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month.  It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month.  Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with.  The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing.  We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month.  The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited.  The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal.  Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761.  Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.

The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, January 19th, will be Roast Pork, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Spinach, Peaches, Cake, WW Bread, Milk.

 

On Monday, November 18th, games of Pepper Cards were played.  Leroy Weiser won 1st place with 364 points.  Geri Shaffer won 2nd place with 330 points. Don Selken won 3rd place with 296 points.  After the games, refreshments were served by Card Club.  Beverages were provided by HACAP.

 

On Tuesday, November 19th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo.  Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller.  George Eckhart handpicked the games. Game one was the Letter “M” with Hazel Eastwood and Norma Ellis winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with Greta Geiken and George Eckhart winning. Game three was a Stair Case with George Eckhart winning. Game four was the Letter “X” with George Eckhart, Marion Isbell, and Norma Ellis winning. George Eckhart won game five with a Blackout.

 

On Wednesday, November 20th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. 

 

On Monday, December 2nd, there were three tables of pepper cards played.  Irene Geiger won 1st place with 302 points.  Merle Roths won 2nd place with 250 points.  Bill Milne took 3rd place with 248 points.  After the games, refreshments were served by Card Club. Beverage were provided by HACAP.

 

On Tuesday, December 3rd, the afternoon activity was Surprise Bingo.  Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller.  Beverly Stein handpicked the games.  Game one was Stair Steps with Hazel Eastwood winning candy.  Game two was a Baseball with Delane Kalina winning a towel.  Game three was Four Stamps in the Corner with Elsie Knaack winning a meal ticket.  Game four was a 9-Pack with Marion Isbell winning green tea.  Jack Oliphant won a bag with a Blackout on game five.

 

On Wednesday, December 4th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo.  Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller.  Elsie Knaack and Norma Ellis handpicked the games.  Game one was Frame the Free Spot and Four Corners with Elsie Knaack winning.  Game two was a 9-Pack with Elsie Knaack winning.  Game three was the Letter “H” with Elsie Knaack winning.  Game four was Stair Steps with Greta Geiken winning.  Greta Geiken won game five with a Blackout.

 

On Thursday, December 5th, the afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Barb Riggle.

           

On Friday, December 6th, games of 500 Cards were played.  Bernadine Barr won 1st place with 2,880 points.  Joann Jones won 2nd place with 2,670 points. Merle Roths won 3rd place with 2,630 points.  After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club.  HACAP provided the beverages.
