Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through
Friday. A choice of salads are available Monday – Friday
on site.
Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for
individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse
(regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal. Individuals
who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 for
their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the
suggested contribution is $1.00. Carryout meals are
available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana,
and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is
$3.50/meal if you are 60 or older. For those under age
60, the suggested contribution is $4.25 for home delivered
meals. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid
supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County.
Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel a Home Delivered
Meal. For more information about services, please call
319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or
more. Please help us recruit more people to join the 4th
St Diner Meal program. All contributions are used toward
the continued operations of the meal site.
Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to
celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always
scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone
having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged
to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they
would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday
celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday
Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We
currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month.
The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars
generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a
gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal.
Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by
calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00
AM on the day of the celebration.

EATS A MEAL AT THE SITE DURING MEAL SERVICE TIMES.
The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, April 27th, will be
Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Broccoli/Cheese Sauce,
Mixed Green Salad, Peach Crisp, WW Bread, Milk.
On Monday, March 10th, games of Pepper Cards were played.
Leroy Weiser took 1st place with 245 points. Merle Roths
took 2nd place with 224 points. Patty McKenna won 3rd
place with 222 points. After the card games, refreshments
were provided by the Card Club. HACAP furnished the
beverages.
On Tuesday, March 11th, we celebrated all the March
birthdays. Those honored were Donna Hepker, Nancy Wiese,
Oma Geiger, Lorraine Fix, and Mildred Hilmer. Oma Gieger
won the door prize of a free meal. The afternoon musical
entertainment was provided by Stuart Gulick.
On Wednesday, March 12th, the afternoon activity was
10-Cent Bingo.
On Thursday, March 13th, the afternoon activity was
10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller and
the games were handpicked by JoAnn Roster. Game one was a
Checkmark with Delane Kalina winning. Game two was Four
Corners Frame the Free Spot with JoAnn Roster winning.
Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Elsie Knaack
winning. Game four was a Large Frame with Delane Kalina as
the winner. Jack Oliphant won game five with a Blackout.
On Friday, March 14th, the afternoon activity was a 500
Card Party. Esther Novotny won 1st place with 2,720
points. Milo Cobb and Bud Barr tied for 2nd place with
2,610 points. After the games, refreshments were served
by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.
On Monday, March 17th, games of Pepper were played. Don
Selken won 1st place with 268 points. Frances Kelly won
2nd place with 261 points. LaVonne Henkle and Lois Romman
tied for 3rd place with 225 points. After the games,
refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided
the beverages.
On Tuesday, March 18th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent
Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. Elsie
Knaack handpicked the games. Game one was Wild Number
Three Bingos with Elsie Knaack winning. Game two was
Stair Steps with JoAnn Roster winning. Game three was a
9-Pack with Oma Geiger winning. Game four was Frame the
Card with JoAnn Roster winning. Oma Gieger and Marion
Isbell won game five with a Blackout.
On Wednesday, March 19th, the afternoon activity was
10-Cent Bingo. Allisun Elliott was the volunteer caller.
Hazel Eastwood handpicked the games. Game one was a
9-Pack with Elsie Knaack winning. Game two was Wild
Number Three Bingos with Elsie Knaack as the winner. Game
three was a Diamond with Hazel Eastwood winning. Game
four was Four Corners Frame the Free with Elsie Knaack and
JoAnn Roster winning. JoAnn Roster won game five with
Blackout.
On Thursday, March 20th, the afternoon activity was
10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller.
Game one was the Letter “X” with Hazel Eastwood and JoAnn
Roster winning. Game two was Las Vegas with Norma Ellis
and Lorraine Fix winning. Game three was Frosting with
Greta Geiken winning. Game four was Frame the Card with
JoAnn Roster as the winning. Greta Geiken won game five
with a Blackout.
On Friday, March 21st, there were games of 500 cards
played. After the games, refreshments were provided by the
Card Club. HACAP provided the beverages.
