“The Benton County Farm Bureau Federation will be celebrating 96 years with their annual meeting for members on Tuesday evening July 15, 2014 at the Van Horne Community Center,” says Board President Dustin Schirm.  The Community Center is located at 508 1st Avenue in Van Horne. 

The board of directors will serve a complimentary supper from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  A brief business meeting will be held, which will include an election of officers and presentation of the 2014 county resolutions to the membership.  The 2014 county scholarship winners will receive their awards at this time.  The Coalition to Support Iowa Farmers Director, Brian Waddingham will be the guest speaker for the evening.  The directors look forward to Waddingham’s presentation.

Benton County Farm Bureau members and their families are encouraged to attend this year’s annual meeting.  “We have families in Benton County who have been members of the Farm Bureau for many years” says Schirm, “we appreciate their loyalty to the organization.”  Over seventeen hundred families belong to the Benton County Farm Bureau and every member is welcome to attend the meeting on July 15th.
