Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Sunday thru Friday. Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their accompanying spouse (regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 directly to the site manager for their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the suggested contribution is $1.00. Carryout meals are available.

Hot Home Delivered Meals are available Sunday thru Friday in Vinton. The suggested contribution is $3.75/meal if you are 60 or older. For those under age 60, the suggested contribution is $4.50/meal. Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel or add a Home Delivered Meal. For more information about services, please call 319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or more. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements; delivery is available throughout Benton County.

All contributions are used toward the continued operations of the meal site.

Each month the 4th St Diner has a birthday celebration on the second Tuesday. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into a drawing for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761 and need to be made before 10:00 AM on the day of celebration.

On Monday, December 15th, the afternoon activity included games of Pepper. There were two tables of players. Irene Geiger won 1st place with 336 points. Leroy Wieser won 2nd place with 274 points. Merle Roths won 3rd place with 261 points. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

On Tuesday, December 16th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Delane Kalina as the caller; Esther Novotny chose the games. Game one was “9 Pack” with Esther Novotny winning. Game two was a “Goal Post” was won by Hazel Eastwood. Game 3 was “Wild #/3 Bingos”, which was won by Elsie Knaack & Viola Calvert. Norma Ellis & JoAnn Roster won Game 3; “4 Postage Stamps”. “Blackout”, the final game of the day was won by JoAnn Roster.

Wednesday, December 17th was the annual Christmas Party with Judy Mehlert providing musical entertainment to a full house. A gift of Fudgie Wudgie was given to all on-site attendees.

On Thursday, December 18th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller; JoAnn Roster handpicked the games. Game one was the “Layer Cake” with Ruth Wieditz winning. Game two was the “Letter W” with JoAnn Roster as the winner. Game three was a “Wild # with 3 Bingos” with Norma Ellis winning. Game four was “Frame the Free & Four Corners” Lorraine Fix winning. Marion Isbell was the winner of game five-“Blackout”.

On Friday, December 19th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card party. There were four tables of players. Bernadine Barr won first place with 3,030 points. Don Selken won second place with 2,770. Third place went to Esther Novotny with 2,720 points. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

On Monday, December 22nd, the afternoon activity included games of Pepper. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

On Tuesday, December 23rd, we were musically entertained by Bob Hauser and Harold O’Deen.

The site was closed December 24th and 25th for the Christmas Holiday.

On Friday, December 26th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card party. There were three tables of players. Leroy Wieser won first place with 3,420 points. Darlene Peters won second place with 2,420. Third place went to Bernadine Barr with 2,400 points. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

On Monday, December 29th, the afternoon activity included games of Pepper. There were two tables of players. Merle Roths won 1st place with 303 points. Bud Barr won 2nd place with 299 points. Irene Geiger won 3rd place with 258 points. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

On Tuesday, December 30th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Delane Kalina as the caller. JoAnn Roster handpicked the games. Game one was “Frame the Card” with Norma Ellis winning. Game two was a “Four Corners/Frame the Free” with JoAnn Roster winning. Game 3 was “Wild # with 3 Bingos” which Jack Oliphant won. Game 4-“X was won by George Eckhart and game 5-“Blackout” was won by Jack Oliphant and JoAnn Roster.

On Wednesday, December 31th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Delane Kalina as the caller. Lorraine Fix handpicked the games. Game one was “Four Corners/Frame the Free” with Leroy Wieser and Ruth Wieditz as the winners. Game two was a “Crazy T” with Oma Eckhart winning. Game 3 was “Wild # with 3 Bingos” which JoAnn Roster won. Game 4-“X” was won by JoAnn Roster and game 5-“Blackout” was won by Leroy Wieser and Ruth Wieditz.
