Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Sunday thru Friday. Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their accompanying spouse (regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 directly to the site manager for their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the suggested contribution is $1.00. Carryout meals are available.
Hot Home Delivered Meals are available Sunday thru Friday in Vinton. The suggested contribution is $3.75/meal if you are 60 or older. For those under age 60, the suggested contribution is $4.50/meal. Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel or add a Home Delivered Meal.
For more information about services, please call 319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or more. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements; delivery is available throughout Benton County.
All contributions are used toward the continued operations of the meal site.
Each month the 4th St Diner has a birthday celebration on the second Tuesday. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into a drawing for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761 and need to be made before 10:00 AM on the day of celebration.

Tuesday, May 5th, the afternoon activity was Surprise Bingo with Elder Mizell as the caller. George Eckhart handpicked the games. Game 1 was “Letter M” with Elmer Stein winning the Free Meal ticket. Game 2 was “Letter W” with Viola Calvert winning a wallet. Game 3 was a “Letter X” which Esther Novotny won a Wooden Chicken. Game 4-“Four Postage Stamps” which was won by Hazel Eastwood whose prize was a Wishing Box and game 5-“Blackout” was won by Norma Ellis who won a Emergency Contact Keeper.
Wednesday, May 6th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Wendy Pennington as the caller. Lorraine Fix handpicked the games. Game 1 was “Flag” with Oma Eckhart winning. Game 2 was “Letter W” with Mae Wilhemi winning. Game 3 was “Crazy T” which Mae Wilhemi won. Game 4-“Four Postage Stamps” was won by Marion Isbell. Game 5-“Blackout” was won by George Eckhart.

Friday, May 8th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card party. There were three tables of players. Leroy Wieser (2520) and Wilma Loutsch (1640) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.
Monday, May 11th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were two tables of players. Don Selken (314) and Esther Novotny (266) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.
The May Birthday Party was held on Tuesday, May 12th, we were musically entertained by Barb Riggle and Larry Roster. There were 8 birthday celebrants in attendance: Donna Adams, Clair Hepker, Esther Rinderknecht, Dale Sutton, Phyllis Mick, George Eckhart, Don Neve, and Lyle Geater. Esther was the lucky winner of the free meal gift certificate.
Wednesday, May 13th, the morning activity was a Blood Pressure Clinic by Virginia Gay Home Health. The afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Wendy Pennington as the caller. Geri Shaffer handpicked the games. Game 1 was “Frame the Card & Four Corners” with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game 2 was “Four Postage Stamps” with JoAnn Roster winning. Game 3 was “Goal Post & Football” which Ruth Wieditz won. Game 4-“ Wild # with 3 Bingos” was won by Mae Wilhelmi. Game 5-“Blackout” was won by Esther Novotny.
Thursday, May 14th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Vickie Holst as the caller; Ruth Wieditz chose the games. Game 1 was “Layer Cake” with Hazel Eastwood winning. Game 2 was a “Frame the Card” which was won by Ruth Wieditz. Game 3 was the “Wild # with 3 Bingos”, which was won by Marion Isbell. Jack Oliphant won game 4 which was “Crazy T”. Blackout”, the final game of the day was won by Norma Ellis.

Wednesday, May 20th, the morning activity was “Fresh Conversations”. The topic was “
Go Mediterranean!”. We sampled Bean Dip and practiced Iceless Figure 8’s. The afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Glenda Kerkman as the caller. George Eckhart handpicked the games. Game 1 was “Goal Post” with George Eckhart winning. Game 2 was “Wild # with 3 Bingos” with Lorraine Fix winning. Game 3 was “Postage Stamp” which Mae Wilhelmi won. Game 4-“Dog Bone” was won by Leroy Wieser. Game 5-“Blackout” was won by Lorraine Fix.
Thursday, May 21st, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Vickie Holst as the caller. Game 1 was “Goal Post & Football” with Inez Maile winning. Game 2 was a “Nine Pack” which was won by Ray Brecht. Game 3 was “Wild # with 3 Bingos”, which was won by Ruth Wieditz. Ray Brecht won game 4 which was the “Dog Bone”. Blackout”, the final game of the day was won by Lorraine Fix.

Game 5-“Blackout” was won by Ruth Wieditz.
Friday, May 29th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party. There were four tables of players. Merle Roths (4080), Nellie Cobb (3270), and Esther Novotny (3070) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club that included a homemade Rhubarb Dessert made by Hazel Eastwood.. HACAP provided the beverages.

June’s Fresh Conversations is scheduled for June 17th. The topic will be “The #1 Way to Stay Independent…Stand Up and Move” and the taste sample will be Strawberry Watermelon Soup.
