Farmers Savings Bank & Trust of Vinton is celebrating its first century, along with its traditional Thursday community meal this week.

FSB President Darlys Hulme said that in both Vinton and Traer, the banks have solid buildings and great staffs. She said no major changes are in the works at either location in the near future.

Farmers Savings Bank & Trust has long been involved in both communities, says Hulme, adding that residents of both communities are familiar with the institutions and staff members.

Traer celebrated the centennial last week; FSB-Vinton employees are celebrating throughout this week. Displays contain historical items and news clippings.

Special events next include drawings for prizes, a free cupcake from Scratch Cupcakes thisFriday, June 26, and refreshments and gifts each day next week.
