Squat Challenge:Julie Lessig gave Honor Flight reps George Rickey & Jim Cerveny the $2,575 raised.
Total Balance kicked off 2016 with the 100 DAY SQUAT CHALLENGE. The entrance fee and any donations collected went to help support the Eastern Iowa Honor Flights, a non-profit organization dedicated to sending local Veterans to Washington D.C. to visit various historical sites and war memorials.
Tuesday wasthe final day of the challenge; the 29 participants each performed 100 squats! With the $2,575 raised, Total Balance was able to help pay to send fie veterans on the Honor Flight. The first flight this year is Monday, April 18th. There will be 87 veterans on board: 3 WWII, 58 Korean & 26 Vietnam. When Julie met with George Rickey and Jim Cerveny from the Honor Flight, they brought tears to her eyes with some of the stories they had shared with me about how "honored" these veterans are to be able to go see this beautiful place.
Total Balance holds a 'Challenge for Charity' each year and is always looking for new charities to include on the adventure. Julie is open to new ideas and suggestions!
Congratulations to everyone who participated!
