Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Sunday thru Friday. Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their accompanying spouse (regardless of age) is $3.25 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $4.25 directly to the site manager for their meal. If you are just coming for the activity, the suggested contribution is $1.00. Carryout meals are available.

Hot Home Delivered Meals are available Sunday thru Friday in Vinton. The suggested contribution is $3.75/meal if you are 60 or older. For those under age 60, the required contribution is $4.50/meal. Please call by 10:00 AM daily to cancel or add a Home Delivered Meal.

For more information about services, please call 319-472-4761, or to reserve a table for groups of three or more. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements; delivery is available throughout Benton County.

All contributions are used toward the continued operations of the meal site.

Each month the 4th St Diner has a birthday celebration on the second Tuesday. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761 and needs to be made before 10:00 AM on the day of celebration.

Friday, April 1st, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party; there were 5 tables of players. Lois Schmitt (3170), Hazel Eastwood (3050), and Leroy Wieser (2750) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Monday, April 4th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were 3 tables of players. Geri Shaffer (254), Leroy Wieser (250), and Esther Novotny (229) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Tuesday, April 5th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Maureen Haisman as the caller; Norma Ellis handpicked the games. Game 1 was “4 Postage Stamps” with Jack Oliphant winning. Game 2 was “Wild # with 3 Bingos” with George Eckhart winning. Game 3 was “Letter X” which JoAnn Roster won. Game 4-“Stair Steps” was won by Hazel Eastwood. Game 5-“Blackout” was won by Hazel Eastwood.

Wednesday, April 6th, Larry Holst played some lively music on his concertina as our entertainment of the day.

Thursday, April 7th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Keith Weise as the volunteer caller. Nancy Weise handpicked the games. Game 1 was “2 Bingos & 4 Corners” with George Eckhart winning. Game 2 was “Shotgun” with George Eckhart winning. Game 3 was “4 Postage Stamps” which Esther Novotny, Jack Oliphant, and Viola Calvert won. Game 4-“Large Diamond” was won by Jack Oliphant. Game 5-“Blackout” was won by Steve Nelson and Marcia Relf.

Friday, April 8th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card party; there were 3 tables of players. Hazel Eastwood (3130), Wilma Loutsch (2840) and Merle Roths (2440) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Monday, April 11th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were 2 tables of players. Geri Shaffer (256), Merle Roths (219), and Leroy Wieser (218) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

The April Birthday Party was held on Tuesday, April 12th. We were musically entertained by Barb Riggle and Larry Roster. Hazel Eastwood and Shirley Doud both celebrated their birthdays with us.

Wednesday, April 13th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Peggy Moran as the volunteer caller. Jack Oliphant handpicked the games. Game 1 was “9 Pack” with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game 2 was “Stair Steps” which was won by Leroy Wieser. Game 3 was the “Wild # & 3 Bingos”, which was won by Bea Payton and Hazel Eastwood. Mae Wilhelmi won game 4 which was “Goal Post”. Blackout”, the final game of the day was won by Ruth Wieditz, Dee Moyle, and George Eckhart.

Thursday, April 14th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Leroy Wieser as the caller; Ruth Wieditz chose the games. Game 1 was “Round the Free & 4 Corners” with Marion Isbell winning. Game 2 was “Letter Z” which was won by Esther Novotny. Game 3 was the “Wild # & 3 Bingos”, which was won by Darrell Moyle, Jack Oliphant, and Greta Geiken. Norma Ellis won game 4 which was a “Flag”. Blackout”, the final game of the day was won by Norma Ellis.

Friday, April 15th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card party; there were three tables of players. Esther Novotny (3240), Marlys Finzen (3170), and Margaret Fuehrer (3160) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Monday, April 18th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were 3 tables of players. Leroy Wieser (266) and Merle Roths (247) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Tuesday, April 19th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Maureen Haisman as the caller; Beverly Stein handpicked the games. Game 1 was “Crazy T” with Ruth Wieditz winning. Game 2 was “9 Pack with the Wild #” with Barb Cassens winning. Game 3 was “Shot Gun” which Jack Oliphant won. Game 4-“Layer Cake” was won by Esther Novotny. Game 5-“Blackout” was won by Ruth Wieditz and Leroy Wieser.

Game 2 was “Wild # & Letter X ” with Walter Nelson winning. Game 3 was “Letter N” which Esther Novotny won. Game 4-“Layer Cake” was won by Oma Eckhart. Game 5-“Blackout” was won by Esther Novotny.

Friday, April 29th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party. There were 4 tables of players. Wilma Loutsch (4390), Don Selken (4070), and Bea Payton (3660) were the winners of the day. After the games, refreshments were served by the card club. HACAP provided the beverages.

Buffet: 5:30-6:00 pm; Site will close at 8:30 pm

We will be taking reservations for the Tuesday Eve meal so if we need to cancel, we know who to call. Reservations will be taken until 1:00 pm on the Tuesday that a meal is scheduled

April’s Fresh Conversations is scheduled for Wednesday the 20th. The topic will be “Preserve Muscle” and the taste sample will be Omelet in a Mug. Reserve your nutritious sample by 1:00 pm on Tuesday the 19th. Participants will get to keep their mug.
