A small, but necessary step toward rebuilding the businesses lost in the February fire began this week, as crews from Pickering Backhoe began cleaning up the remains of Michael & Dowd and Clingman Pharmacy.
The furniture and flooring store has re-opened a block to the west, in the former Birker Bows building. A shipment of La-Z-Boy chairs arrived last week.
All of the businesses affected by the fire have now relocated to and re-opened in buildings on Fourth Street as the owners ponder their rebuilding options.
