On March 31, the Vinton Food Pantry Facebook post said that due to lack of donations that Cedar Valley Humane Society was suspending the once a month pet food distribution until further notice. They have since dropped off a couple of totes but not nearly enough especially now.

Friends of the Shelter, Inc. (Vinton) knows the importance of what pets mean to people and the comfort they bring in trying times. FOTSI has pledged $1,000 to CVHS specifically for Benton County and we want to encourage anyone that has a need to contact Vinton Food Pantry via messenger or watch their postings for up to date times of distribution of pet food and people food. We thank the volunteers at the food pantry for their dedication to helping their communities.

DC April 13, 2020, 2:02 pm The Vinton Food Pantry’s sister shelter in Belle Plaine will also have pet food thru CVHS available at times. Pets bring a normalcy and calm to our lives especially in difficult times and Friends of the Shelter, Inc. will help as much as we can for the residents of Benton County and their pets.
