The annual National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference brings together hundreds of teachers, volunteers, informal educators, and industry experts from across the country to share ideas, network, and celebrate agricultural literacy. This conference moves to a different region every year and is only in the Midwest every four years. This is the first time it is being held in our own backyard! Fields of Dreams is the theme for this year's conference, and we are excited to announce that it will be held at the Iowa Events Center in downtown Des Moines.
The Benton County Farm Bureau is looking to help pay for five local teachers to attend this conference set for summer 2021. The 3-day Conference will run from June 28 to July 1. We are requesting that interested teachers in Benton County fill out an application, for a chance to have their registration fee reimbursed, along with hotel expense, meals, and mileage - up to $1,000. This conference is a highly valuable experience for teachers, with the chance to earn graduate credit. Those who attend come back motivated to incorporate agriculture into their classrooms and will receive a variety of resources to help them.
To apply for this sponsorship, please call the Benton County Farm Bureau office at (319) 472-4710, or email Benton.county@ifbf.org to get the application link. Applications are due by May 7, 2021.
