Last week the Vinton Unlimited board conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony at Beast and Bird's new location. A ribbon cutting was held with refreshments available to the group.Beast and Bird (brick-and-mortar) is a merger of two mobile businesses (Beast and Bird food truck along with McBride Mobile Taps). Owners Logan Merchant, Clay McBride, and Justin McBride (all of Vinton) are excited to launch the next chapter of their growing business. The building was originally a house in the 1800's and a steakhouse back in the 70s. The building had housed various businesses over the decades and needed major remodeling. Hours and hours of work are over. Now the building is waiting to welcome customers to a new restaurant again. This weekend, December 20th - 22nd will be the "soft opening" weekend! The kitchen will be open from 4 - 9 pm, and the bar will be open later, until close.A "Soft Opening" means that everything on the menu may not be available. As the crew gets their feet under them, they will add things. Merchant said, "We want to do it right and give new employees (and ourselves) a chance to get used to the brick and mortar operational changes. We will also be dine-in only, so there will be no online ordering or call ahead orders at this time. Come and see our dining area in person, have some food and a drink, and enjoy yourselves!"Merchant is sure that there will probably be some mistakes, but the crew will try really hard to sort it out as they go...they ask for a little grace as they open. The restaurant is located at 314 North K Ave. in Vinton.
Congratulations to the crew at Beast and Bird!
