Business : VU After 5: Tim Bird welcomes guests to Peppy\'s ice cream store

Tim Bird welcomed the Vinton Unlimited members to his Peppy's ice cream shop on 4th Street near the Vinton Palace on Friday evening. Visitors enjoyed soup, along with crackers and cheese from the Cheesehead store, which is opening later this week. Ice cream, of course was also on the menu, as visitors had their choice of many flavors.

In addition to the regular line-up of flavors, there are many holiday flavors as well.

"We try to make this as local as possible," said Tim. Pies are made by Dawn Richards of Vinton (co-owner of Smoken' on the Cedar) and the chocolates come from Divine Decadents of Shellsburg. The ice cream is made in Iowa City.
