The fundraising campaign for the Traer Swimming Pool renovation project, which has surpassed$100,000 in gifts and pledges, is reaching out to farmers with a special commodities gift program.

The Campaign received significant boosts with pledges from Farmers Savings Bank & Trust and William C. Talen; and Joe Morris, MorrisState Farm Insurance Agency in Traer. Farmers Savings Bank & Trust and Mr. Talen pledged $20,000 to the Make Waves for the Traer Pool | KeepFIT (Families in

Traer) Campaign. Morris has committed to a pledge of $10,000.

“Farmers Savings Bank & Trust and Mr. Talen, and the Morris Agency are excellent examples of why Traer is such a great community.We appreciate their leadership and we are grateful for their generosity,” said Lee Wiges, General Chair of the Make Waves | Keep FIT Campaign.Darlys Hulme, President of Farmers Savings Bank & Trust, serves as Honorary Chair of the Campaign.

Farmers in the Traer area are encouraged to make commodities gifts to the Campaign as part of the recently launched Share the BountyGifts of Grain Program. Qualifying producers can make gifts with no out-of-pocket expense and enjoy tax benefits through the program, which isdescribed at the Campaign website, www.TraerPool.net. Materials about the Gifts of Grain program also are available at elevators and co-ops inTraer, Clutier, Buckingham, Lincoln, Reinbeck and Gladbrook.

In addition to Wiges and Ms. Hulme, Traer’s volunteer Pool Committee members are Marlene

Beenken, Kim Calderwood, Mark Keefer, Dahn Kennedy, Patty Suess, Kirstie Seda and Sara Zeien.
