Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet. Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more. Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration. On Tuesday, September 4th, the afternoon activity was Surprise Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. Ruth Wieditz handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Paul Fix winning a free meal. Game two was a Picnic Table with Evelyn Greenwood winning postage stamps. Game three was the Letter “F” with JoAnn Roster winning postage stamps. Game four was Three Bingos with Greta Geiken winning a candle. Faye Goodell won a deck of cards with Blackout on game five. On Wednesday, September 5th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Delane Kalina was the volunteer caller. June Salerno handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Faye Goodell winning. Game two was All Around the Free Spot with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game three was the Letter “X” with June Salerno winning. Game four was Three Bingos On A Card with Elsie Knaack winning. Faye Goodell won game five with Blackout. On Thursday, September 6th, Barb Riggle provided the afternoon musical entertainment. On Friday, September 7th, there were 5 tables of 500 played. Don Selken won 1st place with 3,850 points. Margaret Fuehrer won 2nd place with 3,130 points. Esther Novotny and Merle Roths tied for 3rd place with 2,960 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP. The cost to individuals who are younger than 60 is $3.75. Unfortunately Home Delivered Meals are not available for Evening Meals, but carryout meals are available during every scheduled meal; please call 472-4761 to place your order.
