“Crop Weather Outlook & How New Weather Stations Will Benefit Iowa Farmers,” by Virgil Schmitt, ISU Extension Field Agronomist, is one of the presentations featured at the June 27 Spring Field Day at the Iowa State University Southeast Research Farm near Crawfordsville. Other field day tour topics include managing nitrogen for corn after a rye cover crop, and managing glyphosate tolerant waterhemp in soybeans.
In addition to the regular field day tour which begins at 1:00 p.m., there will be a special session for certified crop advisors focusing on soil and water management at 9:00 a.m. followed by a noon lunch ($5 charge). It is open to the public and Certified Crop Advisor continuing education credits are available for a fee. Contact your local county extension for more information.
