A choice of salads is available on the buffet. Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more. Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration. The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, June 16th, will be Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Broccoli/ Cheese Sauce, Mixed Green Salad, Peach Crisp, WW Bread, Milk. On Monday, May 6th, there were 4 tables of Pepper Cards played. First place went to Don Selken with 293 points. Patty McKenna won 2nd place with 285 points. Third place went to Hazel Eastwood with 250 points. After the games, refreshments were served by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP. On Tuesday, May 7th, we welcomed the VG Retirees as our guests. The afternoon activity was Surprise Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. The games were handpicked by Hazel Eastwood. Game one was a 9-Pack with Carol Porter winning note cards. Game two was Wild Number Three Bingos with JoAnn Roster winning body powder. Game three was the Letter “X” with Elsie Knaack winning lotion. Game four was Stair Steps with Hazel Eastwood winning a bag. Greta Geiken won a meal ticket with a Blackout on game five. On Wednesday, May 8th, the activity of the day was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller. The games were handpicked by Elsie Knaack. Game one was Wild Card Three Bingos with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with Mae Wilhelmi and Marion Isbell winning. Game three was Four Postage Stamps with Elsie Knaack winning. Game four was a Baseball with Marion Isbell as the winner. JoAnn Roster won game five with Blackout. On Thursday, May 9th, the activity of the day was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller. Frances Kelly handpicked the games. Game one was Wild Number Three Bingos with Hazel Eastwood winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with George Eckhart winning. Game three was Four Corners and Around the Free Spot with Frances Kelly winning. Game four was a Three Layer Cake with George Eckhart winning. Hazel Eastwood won game five with Blackout. On Friday, May 10th, there were games of 500 Cards played. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club. HACAP provided the beverages. On Monday, May 13th, the activity of the day was a Pepper Card Party. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP. On Tuesday, May 14th, we celebrated all the May birthdays. Those honored with having a birthday were Marion Moser, Mae Wilhelmi, Esther Rinderknecht, Janis Ferguson, Walter Gille, Don Neve, Bill Sellers, and George Eckhart. Janis Ferguson was the winner of the free meal. Stuart Gulick provided the afternoon musical entertainment. On Wednesday, May 15th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Wendy Pennington as the volunteer caller. Geri Shaffer handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with George Eckhart as the winner. Game two was Wild Card Three Bingos with Greta Geiken as the winners. Game three was Stair Steps with Geri Shaffer as the winner. Game four was Frame the Free Spot and Four Postage Stamps with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Geri Shaffer won game five with Blackout. On Thursday, May 16th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo.
