“You believed it, of course, because it was Tom Cruise.” ~Matt Zolier Seitz
“Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation,” number 5 in the series, opens Friday, August 28 through Thursday, September 3 at 7 pm, and Monday, August 31 at 2 pm. Rated PG-13 for thrilling, awesome action and requisite partial nudity, patrons are in for two hours and fifteen minutes of WOW.
If American films have proved anything, it's that Tom Cruise is The Best: at pool, at flying jets, at mixing cocktails, at racing cars, at building an airtight legal case against brutal Marine colonels and southern gangsters, at whipping sexist bros into a frenzy, at representing football players in contract negotiations, at defending Earth against invasion by extra-dimensional monsters and, in the "Mission: Impossible" series, at battling heavily armed bad guys while running and jumping and fighting and driving and hacking and playing “Flight of the Bumblebee” on the violin if need be. ~ Seitz
My Tom Cruise movie reflection process: Tom’s not my favorite. But I don’t hate him. I mean how crazy is it that he does his own stunts! And don’t we owe him for giving us “Risky Business?’ So, yeah, what the heck, I’ll watch this one.
And then I love him! Tom Cruise is incredible!
I’m always glad I watched. There’s just something about those MI “No Way!” moments – the rush of adrenaline, the gasp, the smile, and finally, the full out laugh of amazement.
Hang on to your popcorn!

SEPTEMBER’S LINE-UP
Be sure to double check the website this month, as ACT I’s “Oliver” takes the stage on Labor Day, altering our regular schedule. “Man from U.N.C.L.E” runs just three days, followed by the racy R-rated “Trainwreck.” I can’t wait for Meryl Streep and Rick Springfield in “Ricki and the Flash!” The Christian-focused film “War Room” rounds out the month.
