“Captain America: Civil War” explodes on the Palace screen Friday, June 3 through Thursday, June 9 at 7 pm, and Monday, June 6 at 2 pm.

Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Ironman joins Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America in the latest Captain America/Avengers installment. This latest Marvel marvel is missing two notable Avengers, the Hulk and Thor, but includes Black Widow, Falcon, Hawkeye, the Vision, Ant-Man, Black Panther, and more. Don Cheadle returns as Lieutenant James Rhodes.

“Civil War” is rated PG-13 for action violence and language and runs a whopping 146 minutes. Translation: date night, large popcorn, advanced reservations.

This satisfying adventure is rich with the things Marvel comics always did best: critiquing the consequences of power in explosive, four-color form. – Richard von Busack
