It's been a few weeks, must be time for a new comic book movie!
Rated PG-13 and running over two hours, "Suicide Squad" plays the Palace Friday, September 9 through Monday, September 12 at 7 pm, and in our regular Monday matinee at 2 pm. We will be closed on Tuesday, September 13 for carpet cleaning, and will reopen with "Squad" on Wednesday and Thursday at 7 pm.
Please note: 2D Tuesday is on Monday this week. J
The "Squad" cast is stacked - Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and Viola Davis.
Smith, of course, can't help but be one of the most charismatic people on the planet.
Davis brings her usual formidable presence and gravita. -Christy Lemire
"Suicide Squad" is based on the bad guys of the DC Comics world, not to be confused with the Marvel Universe (which I may have done on occasion). Think "Deadpool," "Guardians of the Galaxy," and "Batman vs Superman." I'm pretty sure Marvel's Ironman, Thor, the Hulk, and friends could take them, but that's just my unschooled opinion. And perhaps an excellent idea for a movie script, if the world needed another comic book film.
PALACE THEATRE DAY AT JQS
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, September 20! John's Qwik Stop is hosting Palace Theatre Day - an opportunity for your root beer float and pepperoni pizza to benefit more than just your waistline! John's has pledged 10% of all A&W and Godfathers sales to the Palace on that day. Check out the beautiful new renovation on C Avenue, purchase something yummy to eat, and support the Palace!
SCHEDULE CHANGE
Please note "Sully" has been preempted by the animated Robinson Crusoe movie, "The Wild Life," on September 30. "Sully," starring Tom Hanks, will open on October 7.
