Kick off your Sunday shoes!
The “Footloose” remake plays the Palace Friday, November 18 through Thursday, November 24 at 7 p.m. every night, and Monday, November 21 at 2 p.m.
I loved, loved, loved Kevin Bacon in the first one. The girl (what was her name? has she been in anything else?) – not so much. I’m listening to my album from 1984 on the turntable as I type – it’s definitely well worn, but not skipping.
My prediction for FL2 – Julianne Hough will rock it, Kenny Wormald – not so much. You can’t replace Kevin Bacon. Julianne, Dancing With the Stars sweetheart turned Country Western singer, can’t miss.
Dennis Quaid as the minister should be interesting – he’s one of my favorites, and also Andie MacDowell as Vi.
It’s a rock n’ roll dance movie…for $3 on the big screen! Terrific soundtrack with the title cut a classic by Kenny Loggins, and did I mention they dance?
Yes, we’ll be open Thanksgiving night. You know you’ll need to get out of the house – bring the whole family – Everybody Cut Footloose!
FYI – My “bring the whole family” comment notwithstanding, this movie runs 113 minutes and is rated PG-13 for depicted drug and alcohol use, sexual content and language.
LIGHT UP VINTON
The Palace will show Jim Carrey’s “The Grinch” on Sunday, November 20 at 2 p.m. Special thanks to Virginia Gay Hospital for sponsoring this free holiday movie, including FREE POPCORN! Doors open at 1 p.m. No online reservations available.
DECEMBER
The new calendar is ready, starting with Christian favorite “Courageous” on the 3rd. Yes, despite its limited distribution, Frank was able to get this film for us – church groups of 20 or more may call in for reservations; payment must be made in advance.
The remainder of our holiday month includes “Happy Feet Two in 3D,” “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn,” “The Muppets” and “Hugo in 3D.”
Jack, get back…come on before we crack…everybody cut, everybody cut, everybody cut FOOTLOOSE!
