“42" tells the story of two men who broke the color barrier in 1947. Jackie Robinson (Chadwick Boseman) and Brooklyn Dodgers GM Branch Rickey (Harrison Ford) took a stand against prejudice, changing the world and the game of baseball.

With players and fans alike shouting racist remarks with every play, the talented Robinson demonstrated tremendous courage and restraint by not responding to the taunts. He let his abilities on the field do the talking, and in the end Robinson’s sacrifice and dedication paved the way for future players.

“42” will be hitting it out of the ballpark all week at the Palace, opening Friday, May 24 through Thursday, May 31 at 7 pm, and in the regular Monday matinee on May 27 at 2 pm.

Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of racial drama and language, and running just over 2 hours, this history lesson is best suited for older children and adults.
