Treasurer Fitzgerald Adds thousands of names to the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt
State Treasurer Michael L. Fitzgerald announced he is holding over $317 million in unclaimed funds in the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt. The spring publication of the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt is scheduled to begin soon. Thousands of names have been received in the last year and will be in the spring publication.
"In upcoming weeks, the new names that have been added to the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt will be published," Fitzgerald said.

On the same day when she received the ICDA Outstanding Senior Choral Award & John Philip Sousa Band Award honoring her for her leadership in the VSHS choir and band progams, Baylee Bruce also received words of praise for leadership on the VS Voyagers Dance team as she signed with St. Ambrose University (SAU), where she will become part of the dance team there.

Concordia University, Nebraska Awards diploma to Williams and Woltemath
Concordia University, Nebraska, held its 111th commencement on Saturday, May 5 awarding undergraduate and graduate degrees to nearly 300 May graduates. The following area students were among those who graduated:

Kenzie Woltemath of Atkins
Graduates receiving a degree in August 2017 or December 2017 were also invited to participate in the ceremony.

2nd graders share music, art as Tilford concert series ends
The last of the 2018 Tilford Elementary concerts and PTO ice cream socials took place Thursday, as 2nd-grade students sang a variety of songs and then took their parents to Mrs. Otto's art room to show them their 2017-18 portfolios.
The songs also included a variety of instruments, including musical washboards.
The PTO provided ice cream and cookies, as well as a couple of selfie photo booths so families could make more memories of the evening.
