Mount Mercy University announces Graduates

The following graduated from Mount Mercy University.   Commencement exercises were held at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena Sunday, May 19.   Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mount Mercy enrolls over 1,800 students and offers 35 majors and as many minors in eight academic departments. The university also has four graduate programs.

MOUNT MERCY UNIV. SPRING DEAN'S LIST

The following is a list of students that have been named to the spring 2013 Dean's List at Mount Mercy University. Students with a semester grade point average of 3.60 or better, and who are graded (letter grade, not pass/fail) for six or more semester hours, are eligible for inclusion on the Dean's List. Founded in 1928, Mount Mercy University offers students a personal, practical and faith-inspired education that distinctly blends professional career preparation and liberal arts with a strong curriculum grounded in leadership and service.

Happiness Is Family Fun at the Iowa State Fair

"Nothing Compares" to this year's line-up of family-friendly fun at the Iowa State Fair. UNIV. OF DUBUQUE SPRING DEAN'S LIST

The University of Dubuque congratulates Dylan Ramsey of Urbana, on being appointed to the Spring Semester 2013 Academic Dean's List.  To be named to the dean's list, a student must earn a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale for that semester.  The University of Dubuque, founded in 1852, is a private, coeducational, professional University with a focus in the liberal arts.

NCCC Cedar 3 helps restore greenhouses

The team was assisting the Farmshed in its efforts to restore three abandoned greenhouses and establish a better local food economy and an overall healthier community. Cedar 3 cleared debris and clutter out of one whole greenhouse and made progress clearing the others.

Devin Bolton, from Pacifica, Calif., is a member of Cedar 4 in NCCC’s Class 19. She arrived in Vinton on February 5, 2013, to start her 10-month service term on a team of people between the ages of 18 and 24. Cedar 4 is made up of nine people from across the country, and they are serving together in a number of service projects across the North Central Region throughout their term.

Peter Mousseau, from Grand Haven, Mich., is a member of Cedar 2 in NCCC’s Class 19. He arrived in Vinton on February 5, 2013, to start his 10-month service term on a team of people between the ages of 18 and 24. Cedar 2 is made up of eight people from across the country, and they are serving together in a number of service projects across the North Central Region throughout their term.

By Zackary Hall The NCCC team Cedar 1 has thoroughly enjoyed working with the Science Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.                 The Science Center is a summer camp program that lasts about eight weeks and presents many opportunities for children to learn and grow while having some fun at the same time.
