North Eden Willing Workers Minutes October 17

October 17, 2021The North Eden Willing Workers met at Hanson's Hallow, LaPorte City pumpkin farm on October 17, 2021 at 4:30 P.M. The secretary gave roll call. Roll call was answered with what is your favorite fall activity. 17 of 24 members were present. Two new members (Addison Ollinger and Gina Lutgen) attended the meeting. The treasurer's report was a balance of $1,266.

Carlson's to celebrate 60th Anniversary

Robert (Bob) and Betty (Noe) Carlson will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the Farmers Mercantile Hall, 100 W Main St., Garrison, Iowa at 2 PM. Their children; Brian (LeAnn), Cedar Rapids, IA; Nancy (Carl), Colorado Springs, CO; and Melinda, Marion, IA; grand-children; Max (Macy); Kelsey, Brianna, Cora and Robert; and great-granddaughter Flora; invite friends and family to attend! Bob and Betty were married October 8, 1961 at the United Methodist Church in Garrison, Iowa.

Dr. Tony Anthony Scholarship and Dottie Anderson Donation Gives to VGH Employees

Dottie Anderson - Thank you for your generous donation supporting VGH! Congratulations to: Christina Harrelson and Marita Perez! In 2008, Dottie Anderson established the Dr. Tony Anthony Scholarship which supports an annual $500 scholarship for staff of VGH Nursing & Rehab. Christina Harrelson and Marita Perez are the 2021 recipients.Dottie recently made another $30,000 donation to this scholarship.

Thomas awarded scholarship from Arnold Motor Supply

Amy Thomas of Brandon, received a $1,000 scholarship presented to her by Arnold Motor Supply. She is the daughter or Brian and Kelly Thomas. Brian owns and operate Thomas Repair in Brandon. Fleshner receives IFAA Scholarship

Tyson Fleshner of La Porte City, IA was awarded the $1,250 Rain and Hail Insurance Services Scholarship by the Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement (IFAA) during the Iowa State Fair Sale of Champions on Saturday August 21, 2021. Tyson's parents are Travis and Stacy Fleshner.The IFAA established the Winner's Circle Scholarship Program in 1990 to provide incentives for college-bound youth seeking post-secondary education in an area of agriculture.
