Oak 5’s third round project is at Nebraska Forests & Grasslands – Western Districts / Chadron, NE

Oak 5 will assist Nebraska National Forests & Grasslands with earth dam repair at Pine Ridge Ranger District. This will retain a healthy dam that doesn’t breach due to large debris blocking water flow. The team will also assist with hazard tree removal and other debris removal activities at Hudson-Meng District that was affected by wildfires in the summer of 2012. In between both large projects the team will participate in various events in the community to spread awareness of forest fire prevention in partnership with the National Forest.
