Scott Bremer, from Atlanta, Georgia is serving on team Oak 7 in AmeriCorps NCCC Class 20. He arrived in Vinton Februray11 to start his 10-month service term. Oak 7 is a team made up of eight people from across the country who will serve together across the Midwest.
Scott said that the reason he joined AmeriCorps NCCC is for “The belief in the importance of service, the desire to see the country.”
Before Scott joined AmeriCorps NCCC he was working for tech startup, Umenta as editorial assistant.
Oak 7’s fourth round project is at Ozaukee Washington Land Trust, West Bend. Oak 7 will be assisting the Ozaukee Washington Land Trust (OWLT) and Schlitz Audubon Nature Center with land management including invasive plant removal and control, prescribed burning, and constructing a boardwalk to close the loop on a figure eight trail through OWLT’s largest preserve.
