Et cetera : Did you know this about the American Legion: Fifth Grade Flag Essay Contest

In an effort to help develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation for the United States Flag and flag etiquette on the part of elementary level students, the American Legion Department of Iowa annually hold a fifth grade flag essay contest. First, second and third place winners will be selected and invited to participate in the Department Convention Parade and read their essay at the Annual Department Convention. The first place winner will receive $300, second place $200, and third place $100.
