The North Eden Willing Workers 4-H club met Sunday, November 2, in Vinton's St. Mary's Catholic Church at 5:30. At 5:00 p.m. Committee members and new officers met to discuss new business that would need to be shared with the club. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge. This was followed by Roll Call which was, “What is your middle name and the number of years you have been in 4-H.” There where 34 members present.
After the officers' reports the club moved on to the Old Business. Discussed was last years fair and herdsman ship awards as well as fair premiums. Next was the installation of Officers. They are as follows: President, Sarah Kreutner, Vice Presidents, Jonathon Kruetner and Dylan Geater, Treasurer, Brock Radeke, Secretary, Rachel Tandy, Reporter, Bailey Weeks, Historians, Tess Lillibridge, Lydia Radeke, Maren Redlinger, Photographers, Lauren Tandy and Bryce Radeke. Members were reminded to go online and register for annual membership. New Business was discussed next. New members and Yearly awards to all 4Her's and that county awards including Project and Herdmanships awards.
Our clubs Beef Judging Team attended its first judging show at Kirkwood. They received 10th place out of 71 teams. Our team consisted of Tess Lillibridge, Dylan Geater, Luke Radeke and Bryce Radeke. This team got 6th place overall in Cattle and Bryce Radeke placed 8th overall out of 241 people.
Samantha Walton and Kate Hyland informed the club that they are trying to get the club to plant flower gardens at local senior homes. We discussed social media pages for our club and Lauren Tandy motioned to include a club contact list and to create a club Facebook page. The motioned was voted on and all 34 members agreed. Next was the discussion of a club camera and a new committee was going to research cameras to purchase.
There is a Washington DC trip coming up for any 9-12th graders in 4H and the deadline was November 15th and a $490 deposit was required at sign up. The club was asked if they had paid their dues and if not to please do so. The should give their money to the treasurer. The meeting was then adjourned.
Presentations followed by Alex Pladsen, Weston Biershenk, Landon Biershenk and Bailey Weeks. Snacks were provided by Weeks, Pattee, and Geater families. The next meeting will be held December7, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vinton starting at 5:30 pm. Presentations will be given by members who have missed their presentations from previous meetings.
