Et cetera : Vinton native joins Shawnee Chamber of Commerce as Communications Coordinator

Shawnee, KS –The Shawnee Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce and welcome Joyce Lahue Allard as the Communications Coordinator. Allard will be responsible for the internal and external communications and marketing for the Chamber. She comes to the Shawnee Chamber of Commerce with an extensive background in communications and marketing.

Allard most recently served as the State Director of Communications with Special Olympics Iowa and led major promotional campaigns at the state and national levels. She has provided communications and marketing leadership for the Iowa Small Business Development Center state headquarters, the Cedar Rapids Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Region Nine Development Commission in Mankato, MN. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in public relations, and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Greater Kansas City Chapter of PRSA.

“We are excited to have Joyce join the Shawnee Chamber team with a background that is an asset to the chamber and our members,” said Shawnee Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Linda Leeper.

Allard and her husband, Scott, live in Shawnee. She is the daughter of Mrs. Arline Lahue and the late Richard Lahue of Vinton.
