Bill and Judy Travis were married in Dallas Center, Iowa at the Dallas Center Methodist Church on April 12, 1952.

The couple owned and operated Travis Hardware/Texaco Gas Station from 1963 - 1969 and then later relocated to Vinton to open Travis True Value Hardware from 1969 - 2005.

They have three children: Pam Travis Primmer (Rick), Vinton; Tom Travis - deceased (Connie), Vinton; and Susan Travis, Waukee. They have 8 grandchildren: Tom (Diane) Primmer, Ankeny; Jim (Natane) Primmer, Center Point; Julie (Kevin) Haefner, Walker; Angie (Bart) Klinzing, Mt. Auburn; Tyler Travis (Chelsea Merchant) Independence; Will (Megan) Ketchen, Vinton; Natalie Ketchen (Brandon Ehrecke) West Des Moines; Olivia (Brian) Stainbrook, Des Moines. They have 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a family gathering at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Vinton on Sunday, April 24, 2022.

CB November 3, 2023, 11:53 am Bill and Judy bought Burd Hardware from my grandfather, William Burd, in 1969. We were thrilled that his business continued as a hardware store and so appreciate the many years that the Travises made it thrive. Best wishes to both of you.
