Et cetera : Hawkeye Community College to Host Transportation Open House on April 16

Hawkeye Community College will host an open house showcasing transportation careers on Tuesday, April 16, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Regional Transportation Training Center, 6433 S. Hammond Ave, Waterloo, Iowa.

Attendees have an opportunity to tour the center, talk with instructors, learn about tuition assistance, and hear from former students with successful careers in the industry.

Transportation careers are some of the fastest-growing in Iowa, with demand for truck drivers expected to create 1,300 job openings annually. The Regional Transportation Training Center offers short-term training opportunities for those who want to get behind the wheel, including CDL (Class A and B), construction equipment operator, highway construction, and bus driver training.
