Interstate Power and Light Company, an Alliant Energy company, encourages customers to take a trip down the light bulb aisle at your local store. There are more lighting options now than at any prior point in history, and Alliant Energy electricity customers can now take advantage of energy-efficient lighting at a low price.
“It’s an exciting time for energy-efficient lighting,” said Lisa Pucelik, senior product manager for Alliant Energy. “CFLs now come in warm tones, more than seven shapes, are dimmable and can work for outdoor lighting. Taking the first step toward saving energy and money is as simple as changing out a light bulb.
The impact of each household replacing just one incandescent with a CFL represents sizeable energy savings. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, if every resident replaced one incandescent light bulb with an ENERGY STAR® qualified CFL, the amount of energy saved would light more than three million homes for a year and save $600 million.
Now through December 16, Alliant Energy is helping residents make the simple switch to energy-efficient lighting by offering special pricing on ENERGY STAR qualified CFL purchases. With this special pricing, the CFLs will sell for as little as 99 cents at select retail locations.
