By: Angela Sarrels

Name: Amanda Trontell

Hometown: Pueblo, Colorado

Amanda served as a Corps Member at the Perry Point campus as part of Class 16 in 2010. Amanda is serving a second year with AmeriCorps NCCC as a team leader at the Vinton campus. Amanda chose to serve with NCCC because while volunteering for All Hands Volunteers, she had the privilege of interacting with an AmeriCorps NCCC team from Perry Point. After spending a lot of time with the team both in and outside of the field, she realized that she wanted to invest another year with NCCC but this time as a Team Leader.

Amanda graduated from South High School in 2004 and University of Colorado-Boulder in 2008 with a B.A. in Psychology. After completing this year, Amanda plans on applying to a program in Maine if they receive funding for 2013. If this does not pan out she would like to enlist as an officer in the Navy.

Amanda brings an unwavering work ethic, a desire to help as many people as she possibly can and an incessant need for self-discovery and self-improvement.
