Name: Amanda Skalicky

Hometown: Paynesville, Minnesota

Amanda is serving her second year in NCCC as the Class 18 Oak Support Team Leader at the Vinton campus in Iowa. As a Unit Support Team Leader she will be assisting Unit Leader Fritz Noren with supporting the seven Oak teams and leading teams in the field as needed.

Amanda graduated from Paynesville High School in 2006 and University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2010 with a BFA in Interior Design and Minor in Business Administration. She served as a Class 17 Corps Member at the Atlantic Region campus in Perry Point, Maryland in 2011 for her first year.

Amanda wanted to serve a second year so she could continue to serve her country and give back to others. She wants to make this year a positive experience for Class 18 members. Amanda is bringing her knowledge of how this program works and is Red Cross certified in disaster relief, standard first aid, AED-Adult and CPR-Adult.

Prior to NCCC, Amanda was an AmeriCorps VISTA member for the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity the summer before joining the NCCC program in Perry Point. She initially heard about the AmeriCorps program from a college fair at a local university.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time? Sports, making jewelry, yoga and photography
