Name: Dania Munnigh

Hometown: Sahuarita, Arizona

Dania began her second term with NCCC in January 2012. She is currently the Team Leader for Cedar 7 at the Vinton campus and will lead a team of Corps Members on four to seven projects through November 2012. Her team will start serving on projects starting March 12, 2012 after completing four weeks of training in Vinton.

Dania was a Class 17 Corps Member at the Perry Point, Maryland campus last year. She loved her experience in the NCCC program so much she just had to do it again. Dania says, “There is just something about working to help in different communities around the United States that makes you feel more connected to your country and the people in it.”

As a Corps Member, Dania served on a project in Alabama after the tornadoes had passed through and destroyed so many homes. She was honored to help those people in need. Either by providing them with food and clothing or helping to clear out the rubble from their previous home so they could start anew, Dania really felt that in some small way she had changed lives.

Dania graduated from Felix Varela High School in 2005 and Northern Arizona University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education.

After completing her Team Leader year, Dania hopes to either go abroad to teach English as a second language or work for an international nonprofit organization that works specifically in disaster relief.
