Et cetera : Handgun safety course offered; registration deadline April 6

A Handgun Safety Course will be conducted on April 21st at the Izaak Walton League Chapter House north of Vinton on Highway #150. This course is the NRA Basic Handgun Safety Course and is a eight hour class. It allows the student to handle different types of handguns in a safe environment. Demonstration of safe skills in handling a variety of handguns and completing a written test is required. The cost is only $40.00 for the entire class and it is instructed by Russ Glime who has taught Firearm Safety classes for over forty years in the Benton County area. Students must register by April 6th in order to have enough class materials on hand. You may send email to r.glime634@gmail.com or call 319/721-4706 before the listed deadline. This class will allow the student to apply to their local Sheriff for Carrying a Concealed Weapon Permit if they wish. The class is not meant to be a profit making venture but to develop a passion of firearm safety for all of those attending.
