4th STREETDINER NEWS

On Monday, March 19th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were 4 tables of players. LaVonne Henkle won 1st place with 265 points. Anne Hopkins won 2nd place with 262 points. Dora Vogt won 3rd place with 256 points. After cards, Patty McKenna brought treats for her 90th birthday. Other refreshments were served by the card club and HACAP provided the beverages.

On Tuesday, March 20th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller and Evelyn Greenwood handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Faye Goodell and JoAnn Roster winning. Game two was Wild Card Three Bingos with JoAnn Roster winning. Game three was a Picnic Table with Evelyn Greenwood winning. Game four was a Large Picture Frame with George Eckhart winning. Clete Friedman won game five with blackout.

On Wednesday, March 21st, the activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller and Marion Isabell handpicked the games. Game one was Frame the Free Spot and Four Corners with JoAnn Roster winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with Elsie Knaack as the winner. Game three was Stair Steps with Elsie Knaack as the winner. Game four was the Letter “M” with Faye Goodell winning. Phyllis Ebert won game five with Blackout.

On Thursday, March 22nd, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. The games were handpicked by Norma Ellis. Game one was a 9-Pack with Dale Anderson winning. Game two was the Letter “X” with Jeanette Blazicek winning. Game three was a Three Layer Cake with Jeanette Blazicek winning. Game four was Four Corners Three Bingos with Elsie Knaack winning. Clete Friedman won game five with Blackout.

On Friday, March 23rd, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party. There were 5 tables of players. Don Selken won 1st place with 3,580 points. LaVonne Henkle won 2nd place with 3,410 points. Merle Roths won 3rd place with 3,120 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club and beverages were provided by HACAP.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet.

Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.

Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.

The meal on Sunday, April 22nd, will be Roast Turkey, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Broccoli, Mixed Green Salad, Blushing Pears, Cake, WW Bread, Milk.
