On Monday, April 9th, the afternoon activity was a Pepper Card Party. There were 5 tables of players. Bernadine Barr won 1st place with 267 points. Darlene Werning won 2nd place with 257 points. Bill Milne and Don Selken tied for 3rd place with 245 points. After cards, refreshments were served by the card club and HACAP provided the beverages.
On Tuesday, April 10th, we celebrated all the April Birthdays. Those honored for having an April birthday were Don Dvorak, Hazel Eastwood, Phyllis Ebert, Marj Pepin, and Norman Hanson. Don Dvorak won the free meal and Hazel Eastwood won the Vinton Values Dollars. The afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Stuart Gulick.
On Wednesday, April 11th, the activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller and June Salerno handpicked the games. Game one was All Around the Free Spot with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game two was Four Corners with Mae Wilhelmi as the winner. Game three was the Letter “X” with Greta Geiken as the winner. Game four was a 9-Pack with Joe Healy winning. June Salerno won game five with Blackout.
On Thursday, April 12th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. The games were handpicked by Donna Rauch and Rita O’Connell. Game one was a Big Picture Frame with June Salerno winning. Game two was the Letter “L” with June Salerno winning. Game three was the Letter “H” with JoAnn Roster and George Eckhart winning. Game four was a Baseball with JoAnn Roster winning. Faye Goodell won game five with Blackout.
On Friday, April 13th, the afternoon activity was a 500 Card Party. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club and beverages were provided by HACAP.
On Monday, April 16th, there were 4 tables of Pepper Cards played. Bill Milne took 1st place with 302 points. Leroy Weiser won 2nd place with 280 points. Merle Roth won 3rd place with 272 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.
On Tuesday, April 17th, the activity of the day was 10-Cent Bingo. The volunteer caller was Maureen Haisman. The games were handpicked by Elsie Knaack. Game one was Four Postage Stamps with Rita O’Connell winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with JoAnn Roster winning. Game three was a Picnic Table with Donna Rauch winning. Game four was a Flag with Donna Rauch winning. JoAnn Roster and Faye Goodell won game five with Blackout.
On Wednesday, April 18th, Judy Mehlert provided the afternoon musical entertainment.
On Thursday, April 19th, the activity was 10-Cent Bingo with Vickie Holst as the volunteer caller. Phyllis Ebert handpicked the games. Game one was Four Corners Around the Free Spot with Elsie Knaack winning. Game two was a 9-Pack with Hazel Eastwood winning. Game three was Three Bingos and Wild Number with Ruth Wieditz winning. Game four was a Flag with Faye Goodell winning. Faye Goodell and Orville Ellingson won game five with Blackout.
On Friday, April 20th, the activity was a 500 Card Party. There were 5 tables of card players. Nellie Cobb won 1st place with 3,660 points. Pauline Schminke and Bill Milne tied for 2nd place with 3,060 points. Bud Barr won 3rd place with 3,010 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided the HACAP.

Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.
Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
